PVC's ranking is part of the weekly show “Seleção”, which evaluates the performance of the 20 teams in the A series of the national soccer championship. In addition to the analysis, the goal is to observe the fluctuation of the teams’ positions during the year. The challenge in this project was to develop a basis that made possible delivering the piece in a short amount of time since the list of teams always arrived moments before the program aired.
The solution for this was an automated project, which was firstly executed for AE – a phase in which the demands were still made by designers –, and then automated for PR, so it could be used directly by editors. That way, the client can fill in the information and immediately have the result in hands. This promoted a relief in the demand for the designer team, with agile and assertive delivery, even with the show airing weekly, throughout the entire year.
Periodic demands are very common and the automation has an fundamental role in its production: it establishes standards and systematic delivery minimally affecting the team’s workflow.
The briefing was conceived starting from this example where the anchor defines the team’s power ranking live through a touch-screen.
